Work · proof · nothing invented
Proof, starting with a real diagnosis.
We do not show invented results, so this page holds three kinds of proof we can stand behind: a real diagnosis with the client removed by hand, the checks we sell run live on our own site, and the working file behind every element on it. Named clients come here the day each one gives permission, and not before.
A real diagnosis, redacted.
The seven sections every Signal Audit delivers, filled in from a real engagement: a manufacturer that makes to specification for other businesses, reported on over a quarter in 2026. The name, the sector, the products, the rivals and every exact figure are removed by hand. The findings are as reported to the client, including the one still open.
Redacted by hand · figures as ranges, ratios and directions · nothing here is from the client portal
- What you told usThe brief was the outside: tell us what search is doing for us. Underneath it, two sentences that kept coming back. Enquiries arrive, and too many are for quantities the business does not want to sell. And nobody could say what happened to an enquiry after it arrived. the owner's words, two lines
- What the numbers saySearch visibility over three months was flat, not falling. Visits from search held steady, a few dozen a month. Enquiries from those visits fell to roughly a third of where they started over the same three months. That last figure travels with its caveat: it is form quality multiplied by demand, the two cannot be separated, and the base is small, so it is a direction and not a measurement. When the business is shown on page one for what it makes, roughly one searcher in fifty clicks; when someone searches its name, roughly a third do. Around a quarter of everything it is shown for is a thing it does not sell.
- Where the work gets stuckThe enquiry pipeline had been assumed, never proven. Stress-tested, it had four separate faults. Three were fixed and verified. The fourth is still open and is the worst: the site notified before it saved, so a failure destroys the enquiry instead of merely hiding it. Enquiry data was arriving at a private mailbox the business did not own, which it could not audit or recover, while the legal responsibility for that data stayed with the business. And nothing recorded what happened to an enquiry after it arrived: no record of past enquiries, no count of how many were genuine, no map of which channel each came from. That is the largest finding, and it is not a fault in anything anyone built. It is a measurement that had never existed. Owner: whoever owns the website and the inbox. Still open · one pipeline fault, notify before save
- What the outside seesA stranger searching for what the business makes sees a listing that reads like a distributor's. The generic supplier searches are won by companies with no plant, and the one thing the business can say that they cannot, that it makes to your specification, is not in its listing. Its busiest product term lands in a result list of hobby retailers, which is almost certainly where the small-quantity enquiries come from. Two rivals hold quality certifications it does not, and on a tender that scores before anyone reads the technical response. A typeface on the site was in use without a licence, after the business had been told it was free. sector, products and rival names
- The diagnosisThe business is not hard to find. It is easy to find and hard to choose, and what it does win leaks silently. A lost enquiry produces no complaint, no bounced email and no gap that anyone would notice. Nobody rings to say the message they sent did not arrive, because as far as they know it did.
- The order of work01 Prove the enquiry pipeline: save the enquiry, then send the email, then record whether the email worked. Move enquiries into a mailbox the business owns. 02 Record what happens to every enquiry after it arrives, so the next report measures the business and not the form. 03 Rewrite what search shows for the busiest pages, then measure it in thirty days. 04 Stop counting the demand that was never winnable. 05 Say "to your specification" in the listing and accept fewer, better enquiries.
- What it costsMoves 03 to 05 are hours, not weeks, and the client can do them without us. Moves 01 and 02 are development work and were part-done in the engagement: three faults fixed and verified, one still open, shown as open. Not fixing it costs the enquiries that fell to a third while nothing on the site changed, the enquiries lost without a complaint, and the tenders decided before the technical response is read. fee
The checks we sell, run on ourselves.
Every page on this site grades itself against the rubric when it loads, in your browser. The score is not typed in. Press X on any page and read the file behind any element.
- 01The home page rubric. Sixteen checks on our own served HTML, including the one we fail: no named client yet. See it run.
- 02The Pulse Check on our site before the rebuild. The site this one replaced, fetched on 29 September 2026 and kept as an honest sample. Run it and compare.
- 03The working files. Every element on every page has a brief, the options weighed, the drafts cut and how it will be measured. What the checks mean.
Named clients.
Results exist. They are anonymised until each client gives permission to be named, and this page will say so on the day one does. Until then the rubric on our home page marks client proof amber, on purpose.
Named results
Not a gap we hide. The first name lands here with its permission letter on file.
Be the first, properlyTwo questions about this proof.
- Why is the diagnosis redacted?
- Because it is the client's, not ours. Names, sector, products, rivals and exact figures are removed by hand and the findings are left as delivered. Click any redaction bar to read what was removed and why.
- When will Nudge name a client?
- The day a client gives written permission. Results exist and are anonymised until then. The home page rubric marks client proof amber on purpose until that day.
The next diagnosis could be yours.
Half a day, both of us, and a document in this shape with your name on it.
