The record · every change to this site · in public
This site changes in public.
Every change we make to this website is a commit with a message, and this page lists them, newest first, straight from the repository. It is the working-files idea applied to the whole site: nothing here was changed quietly.
The log.
Read from the repository when you open this page. The seven-character code is the change; the words are what it did. The name is whoever worked on it, where we recorded one, and Nudge where we did not.
- …Reading the repository.
Why show this at all.
Most websites change quietly. A line of copy is softened, a price disappears, a claim gets bolder, and nobody outside the business ever knows. This site makes a different promise: every element has a reason you can read, and every change has a message you can read. The two promises only mean something together.
- What is a commit?
- One saved change to the site, with a short message saying what it did and why. This page lists them newest first, straight from the repository.
- Does this include client work?
- No. This is the record of this website only. Client sites keep their own records, which belong to the client.
Your site could keep a record too.
Every site we build ships with its working files and its record. If you have never seen a change log for your own website, that is a finding.
